Today can't have been an interesting ride, I can't really remember much of it. The beach was pretty, people were climbing up the huge sand dune, I decided I was doing plenty if exercise and didn't need to do that thanks. A lady tried to park in an off limits area on the beach and got her car stuck, which was amusing to watch.
We chose not to do the official scenic route. It went out onto a hilly peninsula which was covered in mist, so we wouldn't see anything anyway. As Jim had booked a hotel we decided to take the direct, but less pleasant route of straight up the main road. Turned out to be a good decision as the shoulder was good the whole way and the wind picked up into an unpleasant headwind.
