62 miles / 1208 total
I had both a good day and a bad day today. First bad part was that I miss calculated the mileage and took a wrong turn and what I thought would be a 40 ish mile day turned into 60 ish! The other bad thing was I got pushed off the road by by a car. Now don't worry, as crashes go, it was fairly unspectacular. I was on a fairly busy road for a short section as we had to get across a bridge. There was steady traffic in both directions, with no shoulder to ride on and no driveways to pull into so the traffic was backing up but just had to carry on riding. An elderly lady who was waiting behind me, decided she'd had enough and squeezed past, but she caught my panniers and gently pushed me off the road! Jeff got the plate number and rang the local police, I expect she'll be getting a visit, as she didn't stop to see if I was OK!
We took a small detour to see the monument to the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, this big mo u mentioned houses a replica of a wooden Hut that he was born in.

Made it into Mammoth Cave National Park, pretty tired by this point!
I'm staying with a Warmshowers host tonight, initially it was only for 1 night for one night but as we were intending to stay in the area for a day to see the caves, they invited us to stay two nights.
The Warmshowers turned out to be a bed and breakfast called Serenity Hill B&B just outside the park area near Brownsville, which is owned by Rick and Steph. I'm blown away that they would offer touring cyclists free accommodation and awesome food (and beer!) when this is also their business and livelihood. Stephs dinner and breakfasts were amazing and chilling out on the porch with a beer was so relaxing. If your visiting the Mammoth Caves I highly recommend staying here! http://www.serenityhillbedandbreakfast.com

During some downtime, I got a chance to play with some gadgets, I took these photos of hummingbirds using my point and shoot camera on a gorillapod stand in a tree. I used my phone as a remote control, I think that came out pretty well considering how small they are!
