Keeping hydrated is really difficult. I'm carrying 2 water bottles, one of which is insulated, and a camelbak bladder. Problem is that the bladder gets so hot you could virtually brew your tea with it. I top up with fresh when I can, but it's so hot sometimes you have to use the Camelbak water because the last 20 miles are so hot I'll easily drink 2 bottle which will be fresh from the mid morning lunch stop.
So I was topping up my bottles with the horrible warm water, when I pickup truck pulls over and asks if I'm ok for water. I say "I'm not desperate, but if you have any fresh I'll gladly take it". He gets out and has a cooler in the back of the pickup with bottles of icy cold water and gives me 2. I've never enjoyed water so much in my life! I think that powered me through the last 10 miles to the campsite. Thankyou so much to whoever that guy was!
