Cruised over the first climb of the day and easily made it to our intended destination by lunchtime. Treated myself to a new pair of cycling gloves as mine had no padding left and decided to push on another 20 miles to Smith Rock. I had my first puncture of the trip! No big deal, sorted out and Jim informed me I'd be allowed on their club rides, my mechanics skills were up to standard.
Smith Rock is stunning, big climbing area so the campsite was quite busy but easy to find somewhere to hide away as it wasn't allocated sites.
Gave Jim one of my hydration tablets as he'd run out of his chewable ones. I forgot to warn him they had to be dissolved in water because they fizz up. Jim had pink foam spewing from his mouth as he was trying to spit it all into his cup, oops!
