I knew I was due a day off but wanted to see Williamsburg so opted for a short day with a really cheap hotel. Made it across the bridge, but my triumphant official start photos are a bit ruined by repair works to the monument.
In Williamsburg I bumped into a lot of ladies on touring bikes, turns out that Adventure Cycling were running a ladies only "intro to Road touring" holiday in the area. Special thanks to Barbara, the AC leader who insisted I take this ultra bright safety triangle.
Williamsburg was kind of weird, like Beamish, but was a lot of fun to wonder round and well worth a visit, particularly as long as you don't want to go inside it's all free.
