There was a heat warning put for today, so considering how hot it's been up to now, we knew it could be pretty bad. So with that in mind, we were all up at 5 and on the road at 6.30am. We'd finished the 50 miles 12 in relatively cool weather. I think we hit the end of the Ozarks as the last part of the rode was pretty hilly! Def glad we missed those out!
Wouldn't recommend anyone visiting Eldorado Springs! There's no camping and the only hotel in town is expensive and not great. The water smells really sulphurous too. Not sure if that's just the town water or the water in this hotel. I couldn't even bring myself to put my head under the shower the smell is that strong, yuck!
Should be back on the official route tomorrow or next day, depending on which way we decide to go.
