Finally had my first full day off the bike in Berea, which marks the end of the Appalachians! Felt weird to leave the tent pitched and sleep in the same place for 2 nights in a row!
The Oh KY! RV Campground was close to town and cheap at $7.50 a night so seemed like a good spot to stay put. Berea was nice, but not as lively as I would have thought for a university town. The kiwis, Jeff and I all went out for a chinese buffet dinner, 4 touring cyclists can definitely put away A LOT food, which felt a bit cheeky for $10 inc tip! Next night Jeff's family came down and we were all treated to a fried chicken dinner, again with scary quantities of food!
Today's ride was rolling rather hilly, the legs are feeling glad to say goodbye to the Appalachians! This might not be as pretty as the mountains, but I'm liking the look of it!

Pretty much everyone says Virginia and the Appalachians part of Kentucky is the hardest part, so I'm feeling pretty good that I'm done with them now.
