So apparently when cycle touring, any food at any time is fair game. The chicken I got last night came with a side of cherry cobbler, which I was too full to eat. As I couldn't see this go to waste, I ate it for breakfast. Then for a second breakfast at 10am after 25miles I had an awesome breakfast burrito
It had gradually been getting hotter throughout the day, so when 10miles from the campsite the was a grocery store I pulled over to get a sugary drink to power me through the last few miles. It worked out really lucky, the thunderstorm which had been looking ominous for a while chose that moment to absolutely chuck it down. Even just bringing my bike under the porch drenched me and made me really cold. Luckily the store owner was really nice and let me sit in his store for an hour drinking free coffee, everyone is soooo nice to bikers here! Had my first glimpse of the mountains I'll be climbing tomorrow:
